A military-standard seamless pipe enquiry has to name the specification, the grade, the size and the inspection. The catalogue heading does not do that. Junda publishes a group called seamless pipes for military standards, with image titles for particular alloys. Those titles tell you which page to open. They are not an approval, a qualified-products listing or a statement that a defence standard has been accepted for your contract.
Use this page when a requisition says “military grade”, “defence standard” or “as before” without a document number. The buying decision is to force the document number into the open, or to stop the enquiry until the designer supplies it.
What is actually published in the catalogue?
The group page is military-grade seamless pipe. The detail entries currently published are:
| Catalogue name on this site | Detail page | What the name is |
|---|
| C4 (KY704) high silicon steel for TNT | Detail entry | The published image title. Not a chemistry, a drawing or an export authorisation. |
|---|
| GH4163 naval torpedo launcher steel | Detail entry | The published image title. Not a demonstration that a launcher component has been approved. |
|---|
| NO8347 | Detail entry | A designation label. The governing specification still has to be named. |
|---|
| Superalloy GH4169 | Detail entry | A designation label. Do not add an equivalent alloy name the page does not print. |
|---|
The group description on the site calls these high-performance seamless pipes for military applications and mentions strength, toughness and corrosion resistance. That is catalogue language. It does not give test values, heat-treatment cycles or the standard numbers those properties were measured against. Do not copy the sentence into a requisition as though it were a specification.
The company introduction also says that high-alloy military-grade pipes have been supplied for domestic military enterprises, including naval shipbuilding, aerospace hydraulic systems and weaponry equipment. Read that as the company’s published statement about its own history. This website does not name those enterprises, the contracts, the specification numbers or the test reports behind the sentence. A buyer cannot audit that statement from the public page. If your quality plan needs evidence of a prior approval, ask for the document under your confidentiality rules. Do not invent the missing names, and do not treat the sentence as an approval you can cite to your own customer.
Aerospace and shipbuilding pages link toward this group and other families. They are navigation, with project suitability still to be confirmed. A link is not a qualified application.
Which document has to replace the label?
Ask the design authority for the governing specification before you ask a mill for a price. A complete line item has:
- The specification, revision and any clause that selects seamless product.
- The grade or alloy designation exactly as that specification writes it, plus any heat number rules.
- Dimensions, tolerances and quantity.
- The delivery condition: annealed, aged, cold finished or as the specification defines those words.
- Mandatory tests, their acceptance values and whether test material is extra.
- Marking, traceability and the certificate type.
- Any purchaser approval, source-control list or process-freeze the contract imposes.
If the requisition uses a house name or a translation, keep the original characters next to the translation. GH4169 on this catalogue is GH4169. It is not, on this page, converted into another trade name. The same caution applies to shortened nickel-alloy labels elsewhere. The 800-series designation note shows how a shortened name hides a real difference. Use that habit here even when the alloy family is different.
Two specifications can share a chemistry window and still differ on melting practice, heat treatment, sampling and ultrasonic class. Quote the document you were given. If the mill proposes another document, require a written deviation that names both numbers and the clauses that differ. A matching trade name is not that deviation.
What can the published quality records support?
The quality page transcribes two documents checked against the published images on 25 October 2026. ISO 9001 certificate 19821QA0205R1S, to GB/T 19001-2016 / ISO 9001:2015, valid until 2027-01-26, covers manufacture and sale of stainless steel seamless pipes within the scope of qualification. The special-equipment licence TS2733N39-2027, valid until 2027-03-16, covers pressure piping pipes in the stated Chinese class, limited to seamless steel pipes, with the product range in the type-test certificates. Quality page
Those records are real and limited. They are not defence-standard approvals, aerospace process approvals or evidence that GH4169, GH4163, NO8347 or the high-silicon entry is inside either scope. ISO 9001 does not certify the product. The mill-qualification guide cites the ISO and IAF wording for that limit. If a military or aerospace order needs a particular quality-system or process approval, put the approval name in the enquiry and expect a document or a refusal. Do not fill the gap with the ISO number.
Manufacturing evidence on the public site is the seamless cold-forming route: cold rolling, cold drawing, solution heat treatment, pickling, straightening, cutting and inspection, with the equipment counts on the production page. A superalloy or a high-silicon grade may not follow the austenitic stainless route you picture from 316L. Ask which of the published steps apply to the grade you are buying, and which steps the specification forbids or adds. Solution treatment that is normal for one austenitic grade can be the wrong instruction for an age-hardened alloy. The specification, not the factory photograph, decides.
Inspection equipment published for the works includes chemical analysis, ultrasonic and eddy-current testing, hydrostatic testing, mechanical testing, impact testing and metallography. Testing capabilities The published personnel figure is five intermediate ultrasonic inspectors. Ask whether the ultrasonic class in your specification can be covered, who is qualified to that class, and which written procedure will be used. “UT available” does not state class, calibration or coverage.
How should traceability be written for this kind of order?
Defence and aerospace purchasers often require a chain that commercial pipe orders leave implicit. Write it anyway, using the same logic as the certificate guide:
- The order line names one specification revision and one grade.
- The melt and the product heat or lot are identified.
- Test pieces are traceable to that lot, with the location the specification requires.
- The piece or bundle mark can be read after packing.
- A deviation is a numbered document, not a note in an email.
- A sample certificate is not the certificate for the shipped heat.
Add any process freeze, welder or procedure qualification, or independent inspection the contract actually contains. Do not add those controls because the catalogue says military. Extra controls cost money and time, and a control you do not need still has to be performed once you have written it. A control you do need is worthless if it appears for the first time at final inspection.
Company range φ6–φ630 mm and wall 0.2–80 mm, and capacity above 10,000 tonnes, remain company figures. They are not a qualified size range for GH4169 or any other entry on this page. Stock of about 6,000 tonnes in two warehouses is regular stock for the company, not a statement that these alloys are on the shelf.
What does a usable enquiry look like?
A fictional request, not a Junda offer:
Please review, and do not price as a defined product until the attached specification is confirmed: seamless pipe to [specification number and revision], grade as written in that document, size and quantity on the attached list. State whether your offered route is inside the attached process clauses, which of your published tests you will perform, and which clauses you cannot meet. Do not substitute GH4169, NO8347 or any catalogue image title for the attached grade. Identify every deviation. Packing, inspection attendance and the delivery rule will be added after the technical scope is agreed.
Send the specification, not only the catalogue URL, through the contact page. If you do not yet have the specification number, send the question to your design authority first. A mill can tell you what it is able to discuss. It cannot responsibly invent the standard your contract forgot to name.
