Pipe Engineering Playbooks and Calculators
Free engineering calculators for PREN, Barlow pressure and H2S partial pressure, plus a practical EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate checklist.
Who are these pipe engineering playbooks for?
These free playbooks are for piping engineers, estimators, inspectors and buyers who need a first-pass answer before an RFQ or a code check. They cover chloride screening, pressure sizing, sour-service screening and mill-certificate review. Use them to define the question and the data to request; use the governing standard, project specification and a qualified reviewer for the final decision.

Every page is free to use and works without an account. The formulas, units and limits are shown next to the result.
Duplex PREN Calculator and Alloy Comparison
Calculate PREN from chromium, molybdenum, tungsten and nitrogen, compare 316L, 904L, 2205 and 2507, and plan ASTM G48 or ISO 15156 review.
Open playbookCalculatorBarlow Pipe Pressure Calculator for Early-Stage Sizing
Estimate thin-wall pipe pressure from outside diameter, minimum wall and allowable stress, then check when ASME B31.3 Eq. 3a and Table A-1 apply.
Open playbookCalculatorSour Service Screening: H2S Partial Pressure Calculator
Convert H2S concentration and total pressure into partial pressure, compare the 0.05 psi sour-service threshold, and prepare an ISO 15156 review.
Open playbookChecklistHow to Verify an EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate
Review a pipe mill test certificate against EN 10204 3.1, the ordered grade and standard, heat traceability, mechanical tests and NDT requirements.
Open playbookExisting calculatorSeamless Pipe Weight and Schedule Calculator
Calculate theoretical mass from outside diameter, wall thickness, length and alloy density, with an ASME B36.19 schedule subset.
Open playbookHow to use a result
A calculator does not replace a project review. It makes the review faster and the enquiry more specific.
- 1
Start with the project condition
Write down the pipe size, grade, pressure, temperature and chemical exposure. The calculator input is only useful when the operating envelope is clear.
- 2
Use the result as a screen
Each tool shows its formula and assumptions. Compare the result with the project specification, the applicable standard and the mill certificate before you shortlist a heat.
- 3
Send the open questions
Include the standard, dimensions, quantity, inspection scope and any calculated result in the enquiry. Junda reviews the requirement and confirms the supply scope in the quotation.
What these tools do not do
They do not replace the current edition of a standard, a project-specific corrosion study, a pressure-design calculation, a welding procedure, or a qualified inspection review. They do not select a heat, approve a supplier or certify a product. Where a result affects safety or fitness for service, confirm it with a licensed engineer and the governing code.
Have the project data ready?
Send the grade or UNS designation, dimensions, quantity, standard and inspection scope. Junda reviews the requirement and returns a technical quotation.
